Mumineen ends the season on a good note by defeating Alliance by 8 wickets.
Even though they have just won one game this season, it was a confidence booster because the team showed what they are capable of and were not going to go winless that easily. Lacking their abilities during the season, great performances were shown all-around. Catches were made, wickets came at the right time and batsman scored runs at the rate that was required without any trouble.
Alliance won the toss and chose to bat. Alliance openers found it hard to score from the opening bowlers Quadir and Udesh. Controversy struck from the second delivery of the innings. Quadir had bowled a ball on the offstump as Saffie on Alliance was batting and the ball apparently clipped the stump, but there wasn't any bails on the stumps! They were removed due to windy conditions. After an appeal, batsman was declared not out. Runs were not coming from the bat, but a few wides from the opening bowlers gave them something to work with. Eventually, the pressure was raising on the batsman and a Run Out was given by Quadir/Udesh. As the bowling kept the pressure on, wickets soon started to fall in a hurry as Quadir and Aseef got 3 wickets in a spand of a few deliveries. Alliance found a few little partnerships that would bring them to a score of 90 All Out in 20.1 Overs.
Quadir 5 Overs 2/16
Aseef 5 Overs 3/29
Brian took 3 Catches in the Deep and Also 1/1 in an over of bowling.
As the openers for Mumineen came to bat, all that was needed was to bat out the innings and go at just about 4 runs per over. 2 wickets fell early as Iqbal was bowled from the skipper of Alliance and Brian was caught at mid-off. Mumineen was 12/2 after 4 overs. This was the beginning of the end. Shaheed and Udesh looked very comfortable as they bat through the Alliance captain, Sultan, who was bowling very well and scored freely at the other end. They laid out the biggest partnership of the season scoring 79* for the second wicket. Mumineen chased the runs out and won it in the 18th over.
Udesh 30*
Shaheed 32*
This team will be one to look out for next season, as the holes are getting filled.
