With a win or tie needed by Mumineen to seal a shot in the finals, they knew it wasn't going to be a "walk in the park" against a reinforced Unity team led by Zahid Hussain. Weather conditions were frigid as Unity went in to have a bat first. Mumineen had a dream start with their opening bowler, Quadir, bowling a Wicket Maiden in the 1st over of the ininngs. The Unity captain, Zahid came in 1st down and was ready to play a spectacular ininngs. Runs started coming freely from the pair that was set in. Mumineen let several chances of getting both batsmen out get away from them. Dropped catches, mis-fields and overthrows allowed a good score of 150/6 in 20 overs for Unity. Zahid Hussain led the team with a well-batted, but also dangerous 72 being dropped on a few occasions.
Mumineen knew it was going to be a tough and tight chase requiring 7.5 Runs Per Over. Zaheer and Hazo was sent in to open up the batting. They did a fantastic job in the crease finding the gaps early and picking off the loose deliveries. A 98-run stand was disrupted when Zaheer was caught in the 13th over for 26. Soon wickets started falling as the Unity bowling got tight and the rate started raising for Mumineen. Batting through the pressure, Hazo top scored with 57, until being caught trying to heave a delivery over the boundary. Mumineen captain, Shaheed, was in next and he too fell playing a big shot straight into the fielders hands at deep mid wicket. Aseef and Iqbal was in requiring 19 from 12 deliveries. With only 4 wickets down, they had a license to have a go at the ball. Mumineen, under serious pressure, were aware 9.5 Runs per over was required and also the best bowler on the Unity side, Zahid...again, was going to surely bowl the last over with 1 over left in his spell. With a few dot balls bowled, Mumineen were annoyed. With 16 needed from 8 deliveries, Aseef smashed a very needed 6 over deep extra cover. With the last delivery from the 19th over, Aseef was run out trying to return the strike in the final over against Zahid. Mumineen needing 10 to win and 9 to tie in the final over, Zahid started the over tight with a dot ball. Mumineen hit a few singles, but knew it's not enough. With Mumineen needing 7 runs for victory in just 2 deliveries, Faran hit one of the most sensational sixes towering over deep mid wicket under pressure. 1 run was needed in 1 ball for victory. With the final delivery being bowled, the field was in. The ball was blocked out and the run for the game was on. Faran was just out by inches at the bowlers end leaving the game to a tie. It was probably the best game that was played in this competition so far. This game shows how the Inter Jamaat League has competition and can produce phenomanal games. We wish next season, more Masajids can join the league so we can have a bigger and better competition, Insha Allah.

Mumineen Vs. Diamond 2 @ Lindsay Ewing
Mumineen won the toss again for the 4th straight game and once again chose to bat first. Mumineen lost Aseef early in their ininngs, but was off to a great start with some hard hitting from Zahid. The 50 was brought up in just the 7th over. Zahid was bowled later on for 41, but the batting kept coming with some good strokes from Udesh. Udesh and Iqbal once again went into the mid-ininngs break with the score 78-2. This time they came out seeing the ball still. Iqbal was bowled for 20. Udesh soon started seeing the ball very well hitting 4's on his last 3 scoring shots. He almost hit another 4, but Diamond 2 fielder, Mark Sirdar, took a splendid diving catch to dismiss him for 33. Shaheed batted out the rest of the ininngs with Fazal and Quadir. He was run out on the last delivery trying to push a 2 with Quadir. This wasn't the first time these was involved in a run out....not the second time....not the third time....but the fourth time since Mumineen started as a Softball team. This time was understandable as they tried to push another run to the total at the end of the ininngs. Mumineen ended up with a good score of 152/3 in their 25 overs.

As Mumineen went into bowl, they were aware that Diamond 2 was a strong batting side and they knew they needed some good bowling in order to win the game. Diamond 2 started out very strong with the bat as the openers Ken Lopez and Abid Rohoman put up the 50 on the board in just 5 overs. Diamond 2 cruised to victory without any troubles with contributions coming later from Asif Sharief and Kenny Persaud. Diamond 2 scored 155/6 in 18.3 overs.

Double-Header - Mumineen Vs. Alliance @ Lake Stevens Elementary & Mumineen Vs. Hustlers 2 @ Lake Stevens Elementary
Mumineen Vs. Alliance @ Lake Stevens Elementary
A double-header was set for the Mumineen Team this week. Their double-header began first against Alliance for the new Masjid League and then against Hustlers 2 in the SFSCL. Mumineen put up a strong total of 143 against Alliance in 20 Overs. The batting was led by a strong opening partnership from Hazo and Zahid. Aseef and Udesh chipped in as well. Alliance had good batting partnerships starting, but never had one that lasted as long as they needed to. The Mumineen fielding was excellent and eventually the Alliance team was defeated. Runs were scattered from a few different players from Alliance, but Sultan was the top batsman scoring 38 from just 10 deliveries, but was caught & bowled out by Udesh. Quadir & Aseef both shared 3 wickets each. Shaheed and Udesh shared 2 wickets in their spell.
Mumineen Vs. Hustlers 2 @ Lake Stevens Elementary
In the second game, it was confusing for the Mumineen Team at first. They congratulated the Alliance team for a good game and took off to Brentwood Park for their second game against Hustlers 2. On the way there, they got a phone call and found out the game was cancelled because the ground was being used for Pro Bowl parking. When the Mumineen team arrived there, they got another call a minute later finding out they DO have a game, and played it at Lake Stevens Elementary instead. Yes...a MIXUP! :(
Mumineen had a bat first. The bowling was tight by the openers Mohan and Karl. Zahid was bowled in the 4th over by Karl. In Karl's next over he bowled Aseef as well as Mumineen fell 18-2. A well needed partnership was needed and that is what they got out of Udesh and Iqbal. They put on 53 runs for the next partnership. Both batsmen were looking very comfortable before the 13 over break with a score 71-2, but as the break finished and they went back in to bat, Mohan removed both of them with successive deliveries. Mumineen wickets fell very fast and were soon bowled out for just 108.
Iqbal Deen - 28
Udesh Lakram - 23
Mohan Harko - 5 0 20 3
Karl Waith - 5 0 14 4
Michael Singh - 1.5 0 2 2
Hustlers 2 came in to bat and batted comfortable throughout their ininngs. Mumineen tried mixing up the bowling with several people, but the batting was too strong. An 83 run partnership was added after the 2nd wicket by Ram & Deo. Ram made 50 not out and Deo scored 35. Mumineen lost their 3rd game of the season.

Deo Ramdeo - 35*
