Mumineen Vs. Alliance @ Jaycee Park - Inter Jamaat League Finals

This was for the Inaugural Inter Jamaat League Championship. It was Mumineen Vs. Alliance. The weather was fine and it was a stage set for a great match. Mumineen went in to bat first. Hazo and Zaheer opened up the batting with both of them pushing singles and getting boundaries on loose deliveries. Zaheer was caught out for 17 and Hazo was gone for 11. Mumineen soon found it hard to score runs, but small partnerships were made by Aseef, Shaheed, Iqbal and Udesh. Judging by the pitch, Mumineen knew that a score of 120 in 20 overs should be a decent total. With the help of Faran and Omar, they raised the total to 122. Aseef led the scores with 22. The chase was on for Alliance and they had an excellent start with Saffie and Asif at the crease. With the both of them blasting away, in the 3rd over, Quadir came up with a breakthrough when Asif was caught wonderfully in the deep by Javed Lall. This was a big wicket with both batsmen set already. Soon after Asif was gone, Saffie was out and this was the end. Wickets started falling at a quick pace. Zaheer and Udesh had cause many problems with their bowling and eventually Alliance was bowled out for 50. The fielding was top class by Mumineen and the bowling was strong. Udesh had the man of the match award for scoring 17 runs and taking 2 wickets along with 2 catches. Zaheer had picked up 3 wickets in his innings and had the best numbers of all the bowlers. With this win, Mumineen went undefeated in the season, thus having a perfect season in the first year of the Inter Jamaat League. Their were other awards given out at the presentation of the game. Most wickets award was given out to Syad Abdool from Alliance and Most runs were given to Zahid Hussain from Unity. At the end of the day, Mumineen came up with their heads held up high and left the same way. The captain of Mumineen, Shaheed Lall was awarded with a trophy and a medal for his duties as captain. Mumineen will be a stronger team next season and will look forward to going undefeated once again. There will be a Inter Jamaat All-Star game. It will be Mumineen vs. All-Stars, which would consist of the best players from the league. Mumineen is also looking forward to having a second team with some of the more senior members of the Jamaat.
