PLAYOFFS

The playoffs are here for the Fall/Winter Season for the Inter Jamaat League. In the first semi-final, it will be defending champs, Mumineen I, against the first place seed, Alliance. The other semi-final showdown will be with last years runner-up, Mumineen II versus a new hard hitting squad, Believers. Both matches will be played at the 2 pitches at Southridge on January 2nd, 2011. Gametime will start at 9:00 A.M sharp. Good Luck to all teams.

Mumineen I Vs. Nur ul Islam - Game 8

Mumineen I lost the toss and Nur ul Islam decided to have a bat first. The bowling from Mumineen I was wayward in the beginning. Lose deliveries were being put away and chances for catches were being dropped. Nur ul Islam found themselves in a great position as they already put up 57 runs on the board after just 6 overs. Hazo was the pick of the batsman, who scored most of the runs freely around the ground. After Mumineen I's horrific start, they bowled some very tight overs and took key wickets to restrict Nur ul Islam to a score of 133.

Mumineen I was having a decent start with Razack and Ashraf in. Razack was soon caught out and then wickets started to fall cheaply. The batting was slow and in no time the run rate jumped up to 10 runs per over. A late partnership from Javed Lall and Quadir kept Mumineen I in the game for a short time, but boundaries weren't coming. This lead Mumineen I to fall to their 5th consecutive defeat of the season.
Mumineen I will have to win both of their remaining games to make the playoffs. Their opponents will be the 1st place Alliance and the team they are tied with, Unity.
